Endlich sind wir in unser Haus gezogen und ich habe endlich eine richtige Nähecke. Vor drei Tagen ist sie fertig geworden. Ein Plätzchen ganz für mich. Die Möbel sind ein Hemnes Sekretär und ein kleines Expedit Regal von IKEA. Die Stoffe habe ich in vier Lekman-Kästen untergebracht. Das Material welches ich nicht so häufig brauche, habe ich in meinem alten Nähkoffer verstaut. Alles andere ist entweder in Sortierkästen aus dem Baumarkt oder in kleinen transparenten Kisten von IKEA.
Ich habe mir aus Wachstuch eine Haube für meine Ovi genäht und einen Garnrollenhalter gebaut. Für beides folgt noch eine kleine Anleitung. Des Weiteren habe ich am Sekretär die Griffe ausgetauscht. Ich habe passende beim Dänischen Bettenlager gefunden. Allerdings musste ich den Griff für die Klappe mit einer Eisensäge kürzen und mit Hilfe einer versenkbaren Mutter einschrauben.
Da sich die Nähecke unter unserer Treppe im Eingangsbereich befindet war es mir wichtig, dass ich den Platz auch wenn ich es jetzt nicht mehr unbedingt muss, so doch sehr einfach und schnell aufräumen kann.

Finally we have moved into our house and finally I got my very own sewing place. Three days ago it was done. A place just for me. The furniture we used are from IKEA, a Hemnes bureau and a small Expedit shelf. The fabrics are stored with four Lekmann-boxes. The material that is not used to often has been put into my old sewing carrying case. Anything else is packed either into those sorting boxes from the hardware store or within small, transparent boxes also bought at IKEA.
I´ve sewed myself a cover for my serger using waxed fabric and crafted a holder for my thread spools. For both there will follow a small tutorial. Also I added some new handles to the bureau. I´ve found fitting ones in a shop called “Dänisches Bettenlager”. I just needed to shorten the one for the cover with a hacksaw and fasten it by using a dissapearing nut.
As the sewing place is located underneath our stairs in the entry hall it had been important to me, that I am able to clean up the place fast and easy, even if I no longer need to.
